Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 17 July 2026
We want everyone who books a Roots of Wonder workshop to feel looked after. This policy explains when you can cancel, when we can refund you, and how it works alongside your EU consumer rights.
1. Your right to change your mind (EU 14-day cooling-off)
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (transposed into Irish law by the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and S.I. No. 484/2013 — Consumer Rights, Contracts and Consumer Information Regulations), if you book online you have 14 calendar days from the date of purchase to change your mind and receive a full refund — provided the workshop has not yet taken place.
Important: if your workshop is scheduled to take place within the 14-day period and you ask us to start delivering the service before the 14 days end, you agree that once the workshop has been delivered you lose the cooling-off right for that session (Regulation 13, S.I. 484/2013).
2. Cancellations by you
- More than 14 days before the workshop: full refund, or a free transfer to another date.
- 7–14 days before the workshop: 50% refund, or a free transfer to another date within 6 months.
- Less than 7 days before the workshop: non-refundable, but you may send someone else in your place or receive the take-home booklet and any resources.
- No-shows are not refundable.
To cancel, email hello@rootsofwonder.ie with your name and booking date.
3. Cancellations by us
If we need to cancel or reschedule a workshop (e.g. illness, insufficient numbers, venue issues or events outside our control), we will contact you as soon as possible and offer either:
- a free transfer to another suitable date, or
- a full refund of the amount you paid.
We are not responsible for any additional costs (e.g. travel, accommodation, childcare) related to a cancelled workshop.
4. Deposits
For bespoke bookings and early years setting packages, a non-refundable deposit may be required to secure your date. This will always be agreed with you in writing before payment.
5. Digital resources and booklets
Where digital resources or downloadable booklets are supplied, the 14-day cooling-off right ends as soon as the download begins and you have expressly consented to that, in line with EU rules on digital content.
6. How refunds are paid
Refunds are made using the same method you paid with, within 14 days of your cancellation being accepted, unless we agree otherwise.
7. Your other consumer rights
This policy does not affect your statutory rights under Irish and EU consumer law. If we can't resolve a dispute directly, you may contact the Competition & Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
